Whenever I go back to Alor Setar, we would go to my brother in law's house in the middle of the bendang. There's a hammock tied to 2 big trees. I would sit there, a book in hand..
That is bliss..

Penyu yang terpilu

Penat tapi rela
dan redha?
[i]She travels several thousand kilometres away from her feeding grounds, during the nesting season, to the east coast where she lay eggs in nests. After crawling high enough up the beach, she uses her large front flippers to brush away the top layer of dry sand, and excavates a body pit. Then she very delicately uses her hind flippers to construct an egg chamber about 40 to 80 cm deep. If she is disturbed or unhappy with the site, she may return to the sea without laying. If, she is satisfied with her nest, she will slowly deposit 50 to 200 eggs. I was told by the facilitator that some mothers actually did come to the beach to do the site survey a day or so before she came to lay eggs.

Sixty days later the eggs begin to hatch. The baby boys and girls will dig their way out of the sand. If the sand is too hot they don't leave the nest. Hot sand signifies day. The hatchlings wait until the sand becomes cool telling them it is night. When they emerge from the nest they start towards light. Usually it is the light reflecting off the ocean. Sometimes the turtles run towards man made lights, which is a deadly mistake.

Another man-made hazard for turtles is Marine Debris, which they mistake for food or in which they become entangled. They also have natural predators, such as sea birds, sharks, carnivorous fishes and ghost crabs and human too ! Usually there are only one or two sea turtles that survive out of a clutch.

Typical Bangkok Street food

View all 12 photos...
One of the greatest joys I found about being in Bangkok is the abundance of street food. It's easy to catch a quick bite to eat in Bangkok – there are food vendors on every other street corner which offer a staggering array of snacks, sweets, and whole meals, including many foods I was unable to identify or find it in Malaysia.

Ayutthaya

Sleeping Buddha

View all 9 photos...
Ayutthaya (full name Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Thai พระนครศรีอยุธยา; also spelled "Ayudhya") city is the capital of Ayutthaya province in Thailand. The city was founded in 1350 by King U-Thong and became capital of his kingdom, often referred as the Ayutthaya kingdom or Siam. Ayutthaya was named after the city of Ayodhya in India, the birthplace of Rama in the Ramayana (Thai, Ramakien). In 1767 the city was destroyed by the Burmese army, and the ruins of the old city now form the Ayutthaya historical park, which is recognized internationally as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

There is a time for everything under heaven
There is time to live, a time to die
A time to destroy, a time to rebuilt
A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to keep, a time to give
A time of sorrow, a time of happiness
A time to embrace, a time not to embrace
A time to war, a time to stop war
A time to control, a time to let go
and there is a time to stop, look, choose and change
!

This was my first visit to Brisbane, I woke up pretty early on my first night stayed there as it was too bright as early as 5am I managed to snap a few pix while Sam was still slept. We went for a morning jog after that along the river side until the beach. as usual She was such a great runner and I steadily followed behind the view was nice and the feeling was something that i can't explain ! i missed Brisbane as much as I miss Sam. She has then migrated to New Zealand.

every picture was worth me looking at. very nice place this brisbane that you miss... somehow the houses reminds me of your sik posting Wed 19-Apr-2006 04:17
